No odd going-on's in windows task manager, or services.īut an update on the situation, since installing the anniversary update for windows 10 (I chose to defer updates as windows updates tend to break things), I think fixed a few windows errors like no longer getting bizarre errors in windows event viewer, I was able to play a couple games for several hours yesterday without the games minimizing themselves. Yeah was one of the first things I was thinking might be happening but couldn't find anything that might be causing it to do that.

It's possible one of those is stealing the priority of the task when launching the game and is forcing the game window to minimize. The error code is 1001 which is an update error. For example the error for Ark is coming from my C: drive, but ARK is installed on my E: drive lol.

In my windows event viewer I am seeing a lot! of Windows Error Reporting on Ark / PhysX part of the Astroneer install and Fragmented (which isn't even installed anymore) and all locations where the errors are except for Astoneer don't even exsist. Right now I'm running a windows update see if that actually does anything. I did have Nvidia's DSR running for just a couple games not on the desktop though but I disabled that and reinstalled since and still had the issue. The monitors are both 1080 resolution screens, I didn't try switching the monitors around so my main screen is on the other monitor, something I could try. What's the resolution on the second monitor? Have you tried a game on it to see if it has the same problem? If the monitors are different resolutions do you have any scaling going on? Any help, suggestions, anything would be greatful, I'm having to run games in window mode right now. I am also using a Corsair Strafe RGB (with the latest Corsair Utility Engine) and a Roccat Kone XTD mouse.

MSI GTX 980 4GB VRAM OC (using nvidia driver 372.54)ġx 256GB SSD HARDDRIVE - 500MB READ/WRITE SPEEDĢx 4TB STANDARD MECHANICAL 7200RPM HARDDRIVE I've tried closing down background programs like chrome, nvidia experience with only essential ones working. I Also took a look at windows event viewer and found nothing particular out of the ordinary as far as errors go, when games get minimized nothing is showing up as an error or any access violations when it happens. I've tried System File Checker (SFC Scan) to make sure there are no corrupt windows files, un-checked "show task bar on all displays" and tried disabling Interactive Services Detection under windows 10 services app. I've check all windows processes, virus scanned, checked malware, checked nvidia control pannel for multi-display/mixed GPU acceleration is only on a single display, deactivated one drive always, deactivated windows defender. especially when I'm using a controller and "Not" accidentally clicking on the 2nd monitor. Sometimes the game will just simply minimize to the start-bar, while other games (like the golf club) will put the game in a window in-between both monitors! its VERY odd. Games affected are FIFA 16 / Gang Beasts / The Golf Club / Worms WMD / Astroneer / No Man's Sky / The division. Most of the time I just need to click on the game again and it'll load the game back up, but there are games where it just completely messes the game up and I have to restart it. I have a dual monitor setup but only my left monitor is set as main and I only game on 1 monitor at 1920x1080.
This is a really weird bug I've been having for quite some time now and it has just gotten worse and worse over time to where almost every game I play now automatically minimizes from fullscreen to a window. If anyone's ever come across this any help would be muchly appreciated, been trying to fix this for 2 days.
